Fund Monitoring is the supervision of all aspects of a building project on behalf of the ultimate paymaster, the fund or finance house which is funding the development.
- At design stage the Fund Monitor must fully understand both the Client's brief and his instructions to the design team and ensure that the latter are working to their brief
- At tender stage he must participate and understand all the decisions surrounding the tender process and ensure that all contracts and warranties are properly signed
- During construction he must regularly visit site and keep a watching brief on progress, cost and quality and ensure that the final Practical Completion Certificate is properly issued
The Fund Monitor has a very important role on a building project since he is the eyes and ears of the fund which is ultimately responsible for the developments.
